In 2025, we created virtual site tours. They were among the workshops sessions. We are continuing with the virtual site tours — centers, museums and other ECE-focused programs will submit a workshop proposal through the Call for Presentations (CFP) process. We created a specific track for this purpose, titled Virtual Site Tours. There is no additional fee to attend the Virtual Site Tours — they will be scheduled among the traditional workshop schedule.
We look forward to having you with us in 2026!

NAEYC mourns the loss of eight people killed in Atlanta, including six Asian women. This violence, like all such acts, causes deep and lasting trauma for communities, families, and children. As we stand for equity and justice, we stand against hate and gun violence. We stand with the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and wrap our arms and our actions around our staff, members, families, children, and allies who see themselves and their families in these women. While there is more to be learned about last night’s specific incident, we know that these tragic, violent acts have taken place in the context of increased anti-Asian racism, violence against women, and incidents of hate around the country. We must address this context head-on, and commit to talking about gender, race, and inequity as early childhood educators and leaders, with our children, in our classrooms, and in our homes. Visit NAEYC.org/equity for resources to help engage in these critical conversations.

It is with a heavy heart that the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Asian Interest Forum (AIF) condemns the tragic murders in Atlanta, Georgia, which resulted in eight deaths, including six Asian women. We stand with the families of the victims and offer our sincere condolences. We share their pain, as we grapple with the truth that such an attack could have happened to any one of us Asian Americans. In light of these heartbreaking events, we are appalled, angry, and deeply saddened.
This incident is not an isolated one. More than 3,800 anti-Asian hate crimes have been reported in the past year alone, with a significant number of these attacks directed at Asian women. In addition, since many of these incidents never get reported, this statistic is likely a grim underestimate. Harassment and violence against Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) persons, families, and communities have increased since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, due to inflammatory rhetoric and anti-Asian xenophobia. We denounce all instances of violence against Asian Americans and stand in solidarity as members and allies of the Asian American community.
It is our duty as early childhood educators to provide space for all children to have honest conversations about racism, discrimination, and bias. We must teach our children to recognize instances of systematic discrimination and institutionalized racism from a young age. It is our job to help children who are witnessing such racism by teaching them to call out the injustices we experience in our communities.
As Asian Americans, we share equal rights with every American in the land of the free. We refuse to be continuously identified as the model minority, and we refuse to stay silent. Hear our anger, our voices, and join us in condemning hatred and violence toward our Asian co-workers, parents, children, and relatives. We must stand up and advocate for one another when ignorance and bigotry threaten members of our community. Let us unite in the fight against Asian hate.
In solidarity,
Sandy Baba, Ph.D., Shu-Chen Jenny Yen, Ph.D., NAEYC Asian Interest Forum Facilitators.

It is time to celebrate, appreciate, recognize, and grow!
I am humbled to lead an outstanding group of resilient early educators as we move beyond survival of the pandemic to opening our hearts to transform the futures of all children and families. I am appreciative as I serve the second year of my presidency with colleagues’ bravery, thoughtfulness, and collaborative efforts.
Together we will continue to build on our organization’s most significant assets by maintaining relationships and making new connections. In addition, SCC-CAAEYC keeps the flexibility necessary to respond to the needs of the early childhood education community through our professional development, webinar, workshops, and advocacy. Finally, we are dedicated to nurturing, growing, and developing early childhood leaders. Studies show that investments in high-quality early childhood education save taxpayer dollars, make working families more economically secure, prepare children to succeed in school, earn higher wages, live healthier lives, avoid incarceration, and contribute to society.
We are just coming off celebrating the Week of The Young Child, honoring and validating our youngest learners and families with five fun-filled themes each day. A special thanks for celebrating the Week of The Young Child at our local region, state, and national levels.
We still have more to celebrate! Earth Day is on April 22 every year. The day inspires us to act toward protecting the environment and focus on the need for conservation. We can teach our young learners how to make this world a better place now and for future generations. Earth day is recognized as the largest civic event in the world.
Teacher Appreciation Week will be celebrated in the first week of May. Teachers have such a significant impact on the lives of our children. Since 1984, the National PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) has designated a whole week to honor the women and men who lend their passion, skills, hard work, and dedication to educating our children. A million thanks to all the excellent teachers in the lives of children as we celebrate, appreciate, and recognize your accomplishment with young children helping them find joy in learning.
Lastly, we want to continue to grow the field of early childhood education by strongly advocating and supporting a robust and diverse universal preschool system inclusive of both school and community-based providers.
